AARON CARR, FORMER SPECIAL ASSISTANT TO ADRIAN FENTY, JOINS THE MIDTOWN GROUP AS RECRUITER
June 21, 2011 (Washington, D.C.) — The Midtown Group continues to expand its work force in 2011, the latest example its naming of Aaron Carr as a recruiter and business development specialist.
Carr recently came on board at the Washington, D.C.-based professional career-consulting firm after working as a special assistant to former District of Columbia Mayor Adrian Fenty.
At The Midtown Group, Carr will focus on recruiting and new business opportunities across the firm's several divisions, including legal/professional services, information technology and government services.
"I feel very comfortable here," Carr says of his new employer. "This firm has aggressive growth plans for this year and beyond, which is really appealing to me. I wanted to join a company where I could best leverage my network of contacts to help the business the grow. I'm confident that I've found the right fit at The Midtown Group."
While a special assistant to Fenty, Carr's duties included identifying, communicating and resolving issues at any time, day or night; planning and implementing programs related to mayoral initiatives; maintaining relationships with local sports teams; and helping to forge business partnerships among the city government and other stakeholders.
"The experiences that I gained while working for the mayor, the relationships that I developed, and the emphasis on teamwork — all of these things will prove quite valuable as I begin my new career," Carr says.
In 2010, he graduated from the University of Maryland at College Park with a Bachelor's degree in Public Health. For four year, Carr also played on the university's men's tennis team.
"There are many reasons why Aaron is a tremendous addition to our expanding team," says Helen Stefan Moreau, The Midtown Group's president and CEO. "For one, he has truly positive energy and a can-do attitude. Aaron's work ethic is wonderful, and he has a big vision, big picture mindset."
The addition of Carr comes as The Midtown Group expects to at least double the size of its employee base this year, while the firm aims to increase its 2011 revenue by as much as 100 percent over last year.
